What is a Health Coach?

It is the difference between falling off the wagon--again--and finally getting the results you want.  It is the difference between feeling alone and hopeless and feeling supported and hopeful. A health coach is someone who stretches you to achieve goals you never dreamed were possible. A health coach holds your hand through healing without making you feel small. Making it easy to follow-through with what you know you should already be doing.

A health coach is willing to say what MOST people won't and helps you feed the opportunities and starve the problems.

A health coach helps you build healthy habits that align with how you want to feel every day, and teaches you the difference between knowing something and doing it!!

About me

A long, long time ago, I realized after 10 years in marketing and advertising that this career really wasn’t for me. I knew that helping people was my ‘calling’.  I always had an interest in what made people ‘tick’, and why people did what they did—good and bad. So I quit my job, went back to school and got my masters in Social Work, which I did for over 15 years.  My last job I worked in a very high stress environment and food was the way to cope, and the weight went on. As a social worker I started to look into the relationship between food, mood and stress and I wanted to know what foods help us manage our stress and moods, and what foods don’t.

I noticed most people knew what foods were bad for them but weren’t making the right choices and struggled to stop.  Why was this happening, why did people say they want to make changes but couldn’t? I was curious and I wanted to know more. I realized it was something more—I just didn’t know what that something was. That’s when I was introduced to Health Coaching and how a health coach is a vital key to changing behaviors and habits to make results that last.  I want to help people discover what is stopping them, help people learn what is slowing them down and keeping them from having the body and the health they really want.



Results may vary as food intake, rates of metabolism and levels of exercise and physical exertion vary from person to person. As a health coach I work on achieving habit change. I do not diagnose, treat, or prescribe medication.  I will be happy to work with your physician’s guidance to best support your well-being.
